Some people are self-confident and able to do some amazing things, so why not you? There is nothing stopping you but you. Here are five tips which will allow you to become confident yourself and do all you’ve ever wanted to do.

1. See Yourself for Who You Want to Be
When it comes to achieving self-confidence, one of the first things you should do is to visualize what you will look like, how you will feel and what you will do when you become confident.
To help with this process, think of a time when you felt happy after achieving something significant. Remember how it made you feel, the smile it left on your face and the desire you felt to do it again and again and achieve something even more satisfying. At the time, I’m sure you felt on top of the world and thought that nothing could stop you. Now, shift that past imagery and place it into the future picture of yourself. That’s who you WANT to BECOME. That’s the CONFIDENT you. Make that visualization the FOCUS and ATTENTION of your thoughts and tell yourself that that is who you ARE, and who YOU WILL BE.
During the process of visualization, LOVE yourself for the confidence that you feel emanating from your body. And believe in the UNSTOPPABLE you.
2. Face your fears head on
You’ve been meaning to do something for the longest while. But rather than just do it, you’ve chosen to let the chance slip away. But why? Didn’t you want it in the first place? Of course, you did. So, then what stopped you? YOU did!
You allowed False Expectations Appearing Real (FEAR) to paralyze you and make you a victim of your own inaction. Nobody wants to be a victim. So, here’s what you’re going to do. YOU are going to stand up to your fears and do that which you want to do anyway.
You may be saying to yourself, “But that sounds easier than it really is”. You’re wrong. It is just as easy. Here is a little exercise that can help you out. When faced with any fear, ask yourself the question: “What am I missing out on by allowing this trivial thing to stop me? When you answer that question, you’ll have your WHY for overcoming that fear. Make your WHY bigger by imagining yourself achieving your DESIRED outcome. Close your eyes if you wish and feel the pleasure that comes with it. Get pumped up and visualize an even bigger image of YOURSELF being excited at the newly achieved DESIRE. Then, look down at a much smaller image of your fear and let the bigger WHY image crush the much smaller fear image. Open your eyes (if you closed them before) and just DO IT!
Maintain a positive approach despite any obstacles that you may face. No matter what challenges present themselves in front of you, just keep punching and pushing through until you reach the finish line.
You’re a winner and winners know only how to win! Prove this to yourself by eliminating the word “quit” from your vocabulary, and just never giving up.
Meditate and focus on the grand prize. That which you want to accomplish should be much greater than that which you stand to lose by remaining in your comfort zone.
Listen to uplifting music. Read motivational or self-help books. Watch self-improvement videos. Just make sure you feed your mind with only positivity.
If an inner critical voice tells you that you can’t do something, and you know this something is what you want to do and is good for you, challenge that inner voice. Ask it on what basis, you should listen to it. And when it comes back with no reasonable defense, which it will, just tell it to shut up! Also, keep repeating positive affirmations to yourself. This will allow you to overcome all the self-doubt and, eventually, the positivity will be so strong that the critical inner voice will have no choice but to go into hiding.
4. Make More Time for Yourself and Tell Other People “no”
Throughout your life, you have put others’ needs before yours and allowed your own needs to suffer.
It’s great that you care about others. But does it have to be at your own expense? Of course, not. If you know there’s something you’ve been meaning to do but just can’t find the time because people keep demanding YOUR time, then just STOP already. Now is the time to put yourself first and let the word “No” roll off your tongue with ease.
Don’t get me wrong. You do not have to be blunt about it. You can follow the words “no” with qualifying statements such as “I am busy right now”, “I will get back to you when I have a moment”.
So, what if they feel sad when you tell them “no”? All along YOU have been the one feeling sad. It’s time for a change. Trust me, they’ll get over it. You will feel much more confident that you stood up for yourself and you will certainly smile at the time you now have for yourself.
5. Take Care of Your Physical Body
Last, but not least, feed your body with the right nutrients and get in shape.
Your body needs the right fuel to keep your energy level up. So why feed it with junk food? Why overindulge with alcohol? Give your body what it wants, and it will become your best friend and provide you with peak performance.
Stop putting off going to the gym and just go. If you’ve been meaning to work out at home, then just start. Exercising will not only make you feel better, it will make you look better.
When you feel and look better, you will have all the confidence you need to do and get the things you’ve always wanted!
